Frequently asked questions

How do I make an appointment?

To schedule an appointment, please visit the contact page and send a message with a brief description of your current problem/injury. I will respond with an email or phone call within 24-48 hours, and we can discuss availability for an evaluation. Follow-ups visits can be scheduled via email or in-person, before or after your appointment.

Do you accept insurance?

In order to ensure a higher level of patient care, insurance is not accepted. This allows me to treat you more effectively by allowing more freedom in our treatment plan. Fiat PT is a cash-based physical therapy provider, and is considered out-of-network with insurance. All costs must by covered at the time of service. However, a detailed receipt and proof of treatment to patients upon request. Receipts may be submitted to insurance companies for reimbursement for out-of-network providers.

Do I need a referral?

Yes, however the state of Virginia allows patients to receive physical therapy evaluation and treatment for 60 days without a referral. Though you will need a doctor’s referral eventually, we can begin treatment as soon as possible! Referrals can come from primary care doctors, specialists (such as orthopedist or OBGYN), physician assistants, nurse practitioners, or chiropractors. Dry needling services require a written referral. Wellness visits do NOT require referrals.

Can I receive pelvic PT while menstruating?

Absolutely! Pelvic PT is completely appropriate during any part of your cycle and there are no restrictions on internal work during your menses. It should also be noted that internal work does not need to be performed at every visit, as treatment for pelvic floor dysfunction often involves areas beyond the pelvic floor. However, your comfort is most important and I am happy to reschedule services if desired.

Do you only treat women?

I treat both men and women for orthopedic injuries. However, I only treat women for pelvic floor dysfunction. Men are limited to office and video visits at this time.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. If you are unable to provide 24 hours notice, you will be responsible for the 50% of your appointment cost. Exceptions will be made for emergencies and extenuating circumstances.

Do you offer Telehealth/virtual visits?

If your preference is for a video visit, I am happy to accommodate! Video visits are 60 minutes in length and are offered at a reduced price for both evaluation and follow-up ($135) appointments. I am licensed to treat in Virginia and Maryland at this time.

Where are you located?

Our physical therapy practice operates out of Ashburn, VA.
